Presidio Generals’ Quarters

San Francisco, CA

Conceived as a series of flexible spaces for lounging, playing, and eating, this addition to the historic 1943 generals’ quarters is designed to maximize one’s visual connection to the landscape and create a flow of circulation through the structure from the East lawn to the West patio.  The minimalist design approach is intended to differentiate it from the Spanish Colonial style while implementing complementary materials providing consistency within the context of the Presidio.  Expansive glass and sliding doors further emphasize a connection to the outdoor spaces.
